Telebriefing for Home Health Agencies/Home Care Organizations
Public Health Officials Provide Update on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Cases have been reported at an average rate of more than 3,000 cases a day for about the past week, and we expect to see case numbers rise with increased testing. And while the number of people dying from COVID remains relatively low, our seven-day average number of deaths is now 7, higher than the average of 4 to 5 we were seeing a month earlier. These losses are particularly sad given that we have so many strategies at our disposal to prevent them. The surging numbers reflect the reality that the Delta variant now accounts for nearly all the COVID strains seen among samples sequenced in the Los Angeles County area, last week comprising 99% of all sequenced strains. Public Health will conduct a telebriefing to update you on the latest COVID-19 response, and new mitigation efforts, and we’ll answer your questions and listen to your feedback.
